Cultivating Beauty

Cultivating Beauty

October 2, 2026

Lately I've been trying to pause and take in the beauty around me. Somehow, time keeps speeding up.

More than ever, I find that I can steady myself by focusing on the beauty in front of me, the beauty that I can create, and what I can share. Our ceramics are a grounding force in my life, from the rhythm of the production studio to the experience of my table at home. I hope they offer something of that feeling in your homes too.

Setting the table really can be an act of joy. We recently hosted my family for a celebration of my mother's birthday, and it was a chance to use and appreciate what we make in the studio in my home with the people I love. I wanted to share a few of those memories of the table here with you.

We swap our ceramics in and out intermittently at home, trying new pieces alongside old favorites. Our standby is a set of Entrée Bowls in Straw which we bring out whenever we have a group of friends for dinner. We also love our Serving Bowl in Klamath Wheat and we find that having a variety of smaller plates and bowls helps us create a beautiful, functional spread.

This last photo is one I took this morning looking to capture something beautiful to share with you, while getting to know my new camera.

I wanted to capture the beauty of the grapes and plums alongside the colors and textures of our glazes: Fig, Yosemite, Sierra Shino, and Straw. One of the pleasures of making ceramics is seeing how the glazes take on new facets of personality when food meets the finished pieces.

With the holidays approaching, we are starting to think about tables full of people, as well as the quiet everyday moments that accompany the season. If there is a piece you've been longing for, or if you would like help choosing something to go with what you already have, send us an email. We would love to help you set your table.

All my best,
Sarah
